The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins

A book similar to "Maximum Ride". I really did not like it. It portrays a society that essentially has slaves called "Districts" and then they pit teenagers against each other from each district in a fight to the death. Nothing like reading about teenagers killing each other, not to mention the scenes were the main character has no clothes. I did not enjoy the book and it left me with a sick feeling.

Jeez, what is it with teen-book authors these days?! This sounds exactly like Warrior Heir! OH. And the Bartimaeus Trilogy, and even Ender's Game which I've never read and only heard about. And about a million other books I've looked at.
ReplyDeletePoor kids in horrible situations having to do horrible things because of the horrible horrible grownups.
Where are the good guys?
Seriously, the "shock" factor of horrible situations. GETS. OLD. REALLY. FAST. And they're disgusting. And they are easy to write, which makes them all the more widespread and EVERYWHERE.
